Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel has opted against designating a starting quarterback for the upcoming game against Kentucky. The Volunteers are currently utilizing their bye week following a defeat to South Carolina, where George MacIntyre committed a late-game error on a critical fourth-down play.
While MacIntyre has been the primary signal-caller since replacing an injured Faizon Brandon, Heupel noted that both players are participating in practice. Brandon, who initially held the starting role before sustaining an injury against Texas, has not seen game action since the Auburn contest.
MacIntyre has recorded 728 passing yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions this season, while Brandon previously tallied 697 passing yards and seven touchdowns alongside 130 rushing yards.
