Jon Rahm reaches separation agreement with LIV Golf, surrenders rest of $300 million-plus contract

Jon Rahm has finalized a deal to depart LIV Golf, effectively terminating his multiyear contract. As part of the arrangement, the golfer has agreed to waive claims to the substantial remaining balance of his deal in exchange for full ownership of his personal brand, including his team name and nickname.

This resolution follows a legal disclosure where the athlete expressed no desire to participate in the league's future operations.

While the separation awaits final judicial approval, the move removes a significant contractual barrier regarding his professional standing. Although the golfer previously secured a major championship title and multiple individual wins during his tenure, his recent major performance has been limited to a second-place finish at the PGA Championship and a top-ten result at the PGA at Quail Hollow.

He maintains his status on the DP World Tour while his future path remains to be determined.
