What the PGA Tour told Will Zalatoris about his potential return as he announces season-ending surgery

Will Zalatoris announced he must undergo another back operation, resulting in a full-year absence for 2027. This marks his third spinal procedure in the span of four years after experiencing a series of major championship successes between 2020 and 2024.

He made just four appearances on the PGA Tour this season while missing the cut on two occasions.

Despite his ongoing injury troubles, the organization has communicated his placement in the Challenger Series tier for the revised 2028 calendar. Zalatoris intends to approach his recovery gradually with no firm guarantees about his competitive future.
