Joey Porter Jr. headed to the Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys have finalized an agreement to acquire cornerback Joey Porter Jr. from the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for draft picks.

Dallas sought reinforcements for their defensive secondary following a rough stretch that included surrendering seven passing touchdowns across their initial three contests. Porter spent the beginning of the season sidelined due to a lingering back issue alongside an ongoing contract dispute as he enters the final stretch of his rookie agreement.

Reporter Tom Pelissero confirmed the transaction, which brings an end to the protracted impasse between the cornerback and his former franchise.
