Fox Sports commentator Joel Klatt recently shared his updated college football outlook, identifying Georgia rather than top-ranked Texas as the premier squad in the SEC. On his program, Klatt projected that the Bulldogs would secure the second playoff seed and defeat Alabama in the conference championship game, leaving the Longhorns out of the title matchup entirely.
While acknowledging Texas currently holds the top AP ranking following narrow victories over Ohio State and Tennessee, Klatt expressed skepticism regarding their remaining schedule and overall performance outside of an impressive stretch against the Buckeyes. Meanwhile, Georgia reached a 4-0 record by defeating Oklahoma 41-13 in Athens, bolstered by a strong first half that included three fumbles and an interception forced against Sooners quarterback John Mateer.
Alabama also stands at 4-0 in the AP poll following a 49-18 triumph over South Carolina, with quarterback Keelon Russell contributing 365 passing yards and four touchdowns.
