James Madison’s Playoff dream may have ended with a doink and a field rush

James Madison saw its perfect season vanish on Thursday night following a 34-31 overtime defeat against Appalachian State. The loss marks the first time the Dukes have fallen this year, significantly complicating their path toward the College Football Playoff.

James London secured the victory for the Mountaineers by successfully converting a 40-yard field goal during the extra period. The result at Kidd Brewer Stadium brings an end to the Dukes' undefeated run and shifts the landscape of the Sun Belt Conference.
