Max Verstappen has publicly defended his GT World Challenge teammate Chris Lulham following a wave of online harassment. The abuse stemmed from a race incident at Portimao where Lulham received a drive-through penalty, forcing Verstappen to fight back from outside the top 20 to finish ninth.
Verstappen, who shared the No.3 Mercedes with Lulham and Ben Barnicoat, emphasized that mistakes are part of the learning process and criticized the lack of accountability for anonymous social media accounts. He noted that he felt compelled to speak out because the targeted vitriol was directed at a young driver unaccustomed to such intense public scrutiny.
