J.J. McCarthy trade: Big Blue View staff reacts to Giants’ deal for QB

Following a season-ending knee injury to Jaxson Dart, the New York Giants made a surprising trade with the Minnesota Vikings to acquire quarterback J.J. McCarthy in exchange for a fifth-round selection.

Staff analysts for Big Blue View weighed in on the deal, noting that McCarthy brings a mobile skill set suited for the team's offensive scheme and shares a previous collegiate connection under Jim Harbaugh at Michigan. While Jameis Winston has struggled to produce touchdowns through the first two games for the 2-1 squad, the acquisition provides New York with fresh roster flexibility and an alternative option under center.
