New York Islanders captain Bo Horvat is cleared to play against the Tampa Bay Lightning following a dangerous collision during Thursday's game. Chicago Blackhawks winger Frank Nazar received a two-game suspension from the NHL for the hit, which resulted in a major penalty and game misconduct.
Despite the severity of the impact to his head, Horvat participated in Saturday's morning skate and expressed that he feels ready to return to the lineup. Head coach Pete DeBoer noted the team's relief that their star forward avoided a long-term injury.
Horvat has recorded five points through his first four appearances this season.
