
Cam Talbot achieved a unique milestone on Friday by becoming the first goaltender in NHL history to record a victory with nine different organizations. The 39-year-old veteran secured the win for the Columbus Blue Jackets by stopping 20 shots during regulation and overtime, followed by a perfect performance in the shootout against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Kent Johnson provided the deciding goal in the shootout to finalize a 3-2 result for Columbus. Damon Severson also contributed to the victory with a goal and an assist in his season debut.
The outcome leaves the Blue Jackets with a 2-1-0 record to start the campaign.
