After 13 seasons and 748 games across five different franchises, defenseman Matt Dumba has retired from the NHL. The 32-year-old spent his first decade with the Minnesota Wild, where he tallied 236 points and earned the King Clancy Memorial Trophy for his leadership and community service.
Following stints with the Coyotes, Lightning, Stars, and Penguins, Dumba has officially settled back in Minnesota.
Wild captain Jared Spurgeon expressed his excitement about his longtime friend returning to the area. The two played together for ten years, and Spurgeon noted that seeing Dumba back in a Wild jersey feels appropriate.
Dumba recently participated in the team's home opener festivities by performing the ceremonial puck drop call.
