The BCCI has officially opened the recruitment process for a new fielding coach for the national women's cricket team, casting doubt on the future of Munish Bali. Bali has held the position since 2022, but his tenure has faced scrutiny due to recurring defensive lapses and poor catching displays by the squad, most recently observed during the ODI series against Zimbabwe.
Applicants for the role must meet specific criteria, including international playing experience, high-level coaching certifications, or extensive experience managing professional teams.
Simultaneously, the board is searching for a new head physiotherapist for the senior men's team. This vacancy follows the resignation of Kamlesh Jain, who is departing his role after four years of service following the conclusion of the upcoming tour of New Zealand.
Jain, who previously worked with the Kolkata Knight Riders, cited the heavy travel demands of the national setup as a primary reason for his decision to step down.
