Irfan Pathan officially joins Afghanistan Premier League team

Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan has been appointed as the Ambassador for the Kandahar Warriors in the upcoming Afghanistan Premier League (APL T20). The announcement was made via the official APL social media channels on Saturday, October 24.

This role comes as the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) relaunches its franchise league following the previous iteration of the tournament.

Kandahar Warriors is one of several teams, including Axcel United Kabul and Balkh Zwanan, already confirmed for the new league. The upcoming player and coach draft is followed by an auction in early November, with the tournament itself expected to commence in December.

While the organizers are seeking global investment, more details regarding the specific venues and squad formations are still pending release.
