Jackson brace for Villa ends Man City’s perfect record

Manchester City suffered their first defeat of the campaign as Aston Villa secured a 2-1 victory at home. Nicolas Jackson netted twice for the hosts, capitalizing on defensive lapses by Marc Guehi and Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Erling Haaland provided the lone response for the visitors with a header from an Iliman Ndiaye delivery. Despite City applying pressure through Josko Gvardiol and Rayan Cherki, Villa maintained their lead to climb into sixth place in the standings.

Enzo Maresca attributed the loss to a lack of clinical finishing and noted that Guehi was substituted at halftime due to a yellow card.
