India vs West Indies LIVE Score, 1st T20I: Vaibhav Sooryavanshi waits in the wings after Asian Games gold medal win

India and West Indies are kicking off a five-match Twenty20 international series at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. This fixture marks the return of the Indian squad following their gold medal victory at the 2026 Asian Games, with attention focused on whether young talent Vaibhav Sooryavanshi will make the starting lineup, and the absence of rested fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah.

Meanwhile, the visiting West Indies team enters the contest carrying momentum from their previous one-day international match, highlighted by a massive 162-run innings from captain Shai Hope and the late addition of Amir Jangoo to the squad due to an injury to Jewel Andrew.
