Paul Farbrace has departed from his position at Sussex to accept a new leadership role with Lancashire, stepping into the director of cricket vacancy previously held by Mark Chilton. The 59-year-old was initially slated to transition into a similar oversight position at Hove starting in November before making the switch north to Old Trafford.
This move comes after Lancashire endured a difficult campaign that resulted in a historic low seventh-place finish in Division Two of the County Championship. Conversely, Farbrace recently steered Sussex to a respectable third-place finish in the top tier despite overcoming a twelve-point penalty at the onset of the season.
