SEC Power Rankings: Alabama leapfrogs Georgia ahead of marquee Week 6 showdown

Ahead of the upcoming Week 6 slate, the latest SEC power rankings have undergone a shakeup at the top. Alabama has climbed past Georgia into the second spot following a commanding victory against Mississippi State, highlighted by standout play from Keelon Russell and the passing unit.

Both powerhouse programs maintain unblemished 5-0 records, setting the stage for a high-stakes clash in Tuscaloosa on Saturday night.

Beyond the battle for the top spot, the conference remains heavily contested as the season reaches its early October stretch. Kentucky continued its strong campaign under Will Stein with a thrilling overtime triumph over South Carolina, while Florida faced a harsh reality check.

As the rest of the conference sorts through a muddled middle tier, the upcoming weekend promises vital clarity for the top contenders.
