Hunt joins the ultra-wide crowd with new 5AM Gravel Limitless race wheels

British manufacturer Hunt has introduced its 5AMG Limitless gravel wheelset, joining competitors like Zipp and Enve in the market for ultra-wide aerodynamic components. The design utilizes a reverse mullet configuration, pairing a 54mm deep and 45mm wide front rim with a 49mm deep and 38mm wide rear rim to balance stability and weight.

These wheels feature a 27mm internal width and are optimized for 45mm to 50mm tires, though they remain compatible with hookless options ranging from 40mm to 60mm. To maintain low weight while increasing rim width, the company employs a low-density polymer filler within the bead.

The carbon-spoke model weighs 1,317g, while the stainless steel version, utilizing Pillar Super Wing bladed spokes, weighs 1,447g. Internal testing indicated the carbon-spoke variant achieved the lowest drag figures.
