Dorian Godon secured a dramatic victory at the 110th edition of Gran Piemonte, capitalizing on a chaotic final sprint after a teammate’s crash disrupted the race. The French rider, riding for Netcompany-Ineos, overtook Anthon Charmig of Uno-X Mobility in the closing meters to claim his seventh win of the season.
Godon’s triumph came after being dropped on the final climb, where Isaac del Toro of UAE Team Emirates-XRG had earlier broken clear with Finn Fisher-Black, only to be reeled back in by the peloton. The Mexican star had built a significant gap on the La Morra climb but was eventually caught with 1.5 kilometers remaining.
The mass sprint was further complicated by two crashes on the twisty final stretch, including one near the line, before Godon edged out Charmig and Alberto Bettiol of XDS Astana for the podium.
