The schedule for the 2027 ODI World Cup has revealed a revised format that could see traditional rivals India and Pakistan meet multiple times during the tournament. Following the release of the fixtures on Thursday, India was placed in Group A alongside Australia, Zimbabwe, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and a yet-to-be-decided qualifier, with their initial group-stage match slated for October 10.
Under the newly structured tournament guidelines, twelve out of the fourteen participating nations will advance to a Super Seven stage following an opening Super Series round. Assuming both squads successfully navigate the preliminary matches and avoid upsets against lower-ranked opponents, India and Pakistan are poised to clash at least twice in the round-robin Super Seven phase.
Further advancement into the knockout semifinals could potentially increase their total number of meetings even more.
