South Africa secured a 2-1 series victory over Australia following a dominant performance in the final Test at Cape Town. Off-spinner Simon Harmer spearheaded the effort with a career-best 6-16, finishing the match with a total of 10-120 as the visitors were dismissed for 111 in their second innings.

This 176-run win allowed the Proteas to overcome an initial series deficit and overtake Australia for the number one position in the ICC Test rankings. Kagiso Rabada also achieved a significant milestone during the final day, claiming 3-39 to reach 350 career Test wickets.

The result was set up by centuries from Wiaan Mulder and Ryan Rickelton, which established a target of 288 runs for Australia to chase.
