Hardik Pandya has withdrawn from the upcoming India A series against Australia A due to a right tibial bone stress response. Medical staff at the BCCI Centre of Excellence determined there is no structural damage or stress fracture, but recommended a mandatory two-week period of rest.
The all-rounder was initially named to the squad on a conditional basis ahead of the three-match one-day fixtures scheduled in Puducherry.
Recovery from this specific type of bone injury generally takes between four and six weeks, casting doubt on his participation in the subsequent tour of New Zealand. Head coach Gautam Gambhir previously highlighted the player's unique skill set and the necessity of securing sufficient match practice leading into the 2027 World Cup.
