All-rounder Hardik Pandya has hit another roadblock in his athletic recovery after a recurring shin issue ruled him out of the upcoming three-match 50-over series against Australia A. The player was initially named in the squad for the fixtures starting October 6, provided he cleared fitness assessments.
However, renewed discomfort during his second evaluation on September 19 led medical professionals to recommend a mandatory two-week hiatus following subsequent scans. This latest setback further delays his return to competitive action, which has been stalled since a May appearance during the IPL and subsequent rehabilitation stints at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.
Team management and selectors had hoped the matches would verify his readiness to shoulder a complete ten-over bowling workload before potential international selection.
