Guardians News: Messick is Top Three for Two Awards

Cleveland rookie Parker Messick has secured top-three finishes for both the American League Cy Young and Rookie of the Year honors. This achievement grants the Guardians an additional draft selection, bolstering their total to five picks within the first 75 slots.

Meanwhile, Cade Smith earned recognition as a top-three finalist for the AL Reliever of the Year award, though manager Stephen Vogt did not reach that threshold. In other developments, the legal proceedings involving Emmanuel Clase and Luis Ortiz continue with ongoing jury selection, and free-agent projections suggest the club may pursue Paul Blackburn.
