Guardians clinch third consecutive AL Central crown, No. 2 seed

Cleveland has locked down the American League Central division title for the third consecutive season, finishing out an 85-76 campaign with an 11-5 triumph over Kansas City. Supported by a helpful late-season loss from Chicago engineered by Colorado, Steven Vogt's squad secured the second seed in the upcoming postseason bracket.

The team is now scheduled for a postseason opening series against Boston, while the rest of the league finalizes its remaining wild-card matchups. This upcoming October run follows a postseason exit last year against Detroit and extends a championship drought dating back to the 2016 World Series defeat against Chicago.
