Giants made the one QB trade that offered hope, even if it doesn't guarantee anything

Following the season-ending injury to Jaxson Dart, the New York Giants acquired young quarterback J.J. McCarthy from the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for a 2027 fifth-round draft selection.

McCarthy had fallen to the third-string role in Minnesota behind Carson Wentz, struggling to retain the coaching staff's confidence after making ten prior career starts. Prior to this deal, the Giants relied briefly on Jameis Winston, who managed a tight victory over the Tennessee Titans following an earlier defeat against the Rams.
