Gameday column: Bills can make an another type of statement vs. Chargers

Under the direction of Joe Brady, Buffalo opened the current campaign with a 36-point offensive showing against Houston followed by a 41-point performance against Detroit to debut the newly opened Highmark Stadium. As the team prepares for its latest matchup against the Chargers, Sean McDermott's squad aims to secure the top seed in the AFC playoffs, a goal historically hindered by unexpected regular-season defeats.

Josh Allen and his teammates have consistently built a reputation as a dominant regular-season force and perennial contender, yet previous years were marred by puzzling setbacks such as a 9-6 loss to Jacksonville in 2021, a 14-10 defeat against New England during a heavy wind game, and a 20-17 road loss to the Jets in 2022.
