Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo faced a double setback in a single day, as his latest attempt to qualify for the Korn Ferry Tour ended in disqualification due to a scoring error. Competing in a Q-School pre-qualifier at the Club at Forest Ridge in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Romo entered the final round needing a strong finish to advance.
Despite starting the round with scores of 76 and 75 over the first 36 holes, he fell short of the required performance, finishing three strokes behind the cutoff. Officials later ruled that Romo had incorrectly signed his scorecard, undercounting his strokes on two holes—including a bogey on the 16th—after a review of his group’s pace and actual performance.
The disqualification came after his group received a slow-play warning, adding pressure to an already challenging round. Separately, CBS Sports announced it would part ways with Romo after nine seasons as its lead NFL analyst, marking the end of a prominent broadcasting career for the 46-year-old golfer and former NFL star.
