AC Milan and Inter Milan unveiled blueprints for the Generali Stadium on Thursday at Castello Sforzedco, a project intended to replace the iconic Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, better known as the San Siro. Architects Norman Foster and David Manica presented the new venue design, which features an oval structure with a double-curved roof and eighty diamond shapes.
The arena will sit on a raised podium and contain a 71,500-seat bowl spread across two tiers, surrounded by parking facilities, club merchandise shops, and a museum. Prior to the formal unveiling, supporters of Inter Milan gathered outside the castle courtyard to protest the demolition of their historic home.
The overall development area spans roughly 281,000 square meters.
