Simi Singh has concluded his career in professional cricket after representing Ireland ninety times between 2017 and 2022. The 39-year-old spin-bowling all-rounder originally relocated from India to Ireland at age nineteen in 2006, eventually becoming the first native of India to play for the national team.
During his international tenure, he set a world record for a number eight batsman by hitting a century against South Africa, secured a spot on the 2021 men's ODI team of the year, and recorded his best bowling figures of five wickets for ten runs against the United Arab Emirates. He also adjusted his bowling style later in his career by incorporating leg spin, which allowed him to participate in all four of Ireland's group matches at the 2022 T20 World Cup.
Upon stepping away from the sport, Singh expressed deep appreciation for his journey and thanked several key figures who shaped his professional path. He specifically acknowledged Alan Lewis for support during his YMCA days and credited coach Graham Ford as essential to his achievements.
Concluding his farewell, he confirmed his ongoing dedication to Irish cricket as a supporter and wished future generations success.
