Edd Straw has published his latest Formula 1 tier list evaluating driver displays at the Mexican Grand Prix. Max Verstappen secured a spot in the top tier following sharp racecraft and a key role in Red Bull's bounce-back from a tough Friday, though a minor qualifying lock-up and a grid penalty kept him from absolute perfection.
Lewis Hamilton captured pole position for the first time since 2023 and delivered a stellar performance aside from a late braking miscue at Turn 4 with Verstappen. Further down the order, Ryo Hirakawa stepped into Esteban Ocon's car and fought through turbulent air to claim a points finish after penalties.
Liam Lawson engineered a strong recovery from a pit lane start to capture the midfield win, while Sergio Perez battled back from set-up issues and a sensor-related pit lane penalty. Ollie Bearman showed great speed despite swapping to an older Ferrari power unit before getting tagged from behind by Nico Hulkenberg.
