Eagles-Commanders Film Review: Offense did some good things but must improve

The Philadelphia Eagles edged out the Washington Commanders with a 24-22 victory in their season opener. Quarterback Jalen Hurts connected on three touchdown passes and delivered three completions that exceeded 30 yards, while the ground attack contributed two rushes surpassing 20 yards.

The hard-fought contest marked the debut of offensive coordinator Sean Mannion, whose newly installed scheme provided occasional explosive plays despite enduring pass protection breakdowns and a scoreless, stalled third quarter.

With this narrow triumph, Philadelphia advanced to 1-0 and maintained an unblemished 6-0 record in kickoff games under head coach Nick Sirianni and Hurts. The matchup at Lincoln Financial Field also featured second-quarter action between running back Saquon Barkley and Washington defender Nick Cross as the Eagles survived their divisional test.
