EAGLES BACKUP QUARTERBACK REVEALED

Andy Dalton has officially secured the primary backup quarterback role for the Philadelphia Eagles heading into their season opener against the Washington Commanders. The veteran signal-caller, who previously spent nine seasons leading the Cincinnati Bengals from 2011 through 2019, surpassed Tanner McKee during the club's offseason battle to serve as the direct deputy to starter Jalen Hurts.

Meanwhile, Philadelphia finalized several injury designations leading up to the Week 1 clash. Pro Bowl edge rusher Jonathan Greenard has been sidelined after tearing a pectoral muscle during weightlifting sessions prior to training camp, while rookie tight end Eli Stowers carries a questionable designation due to a strained hamstring.
