Dream breaks unwanted 16-year record in WNBA Finals Game 2 win

The Atlanta Dream ended a brutal 16-year playoff drought with their first-ever WNBA Finals victory, defeating the Golden State Valkyries 79-65 in Game 2 at Chase Center. The win snapped a franchise-record losing streak of 10 consecutive Finals games, a stretch dating back to their 2010 sweep by Seattle under Sue Bird.

Angel Reese led the charge with a dominant performance, propelling Atlanta to its first Finals win in franchise history after a historic postseason run that included a sweep of the Washington Mystics and a semifinal victory over the New York Liberty. The Dream now head home with a 1-1 series tie, looking to extend their momentum after a franchise-defining season that finally broke a decade-and-a-half of heartbreak.
