Former wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthick has advised Shubman Gill to assert greater authority as leader of the national squad. Gill recently secured his tenth fifty-over century by compiling a hundred and ten runs from one hundred eight balls during a successful run chase against the West Indies on the twenty-seventh of September.
Having assumed leadership duties from Rohit Sharma previously, Gill has accumulated seven hundred fourteen runs across twelve innings as skipper, averaging seventy-one point four zero. Karthick emphasized that the batter must now guide the group decisively and back core players fully as preparations continue toward the two thousand twenty-seven global tournament.
Additionally, Karthik noted that the core roster has been shaped by selectors and coaching staff, meaning the young captain must stamp his own identity onto the inherited squad.
