Deonte Banks’ resurgence continued with performance that validated Giants’ faith

New York Giants cornerback Deonte Banks helped silence the visiting Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night, September 13, 2026, delivering a strong outing highlighted by a second-quarter tackle on wide receiver KaVontae Turpin. The Week 1 victory at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford showcased the early influence of new head coach John Harbaugh, whose squad controlled time of possession behind quarterback Jaxson Dart.

Dallas struggled defensively throughout the evening under coordinator Christian Parker, surrendering 28 points as New York pulled off the opening-week triumph. The deflating defeat handed the Cowboys a historically poor defensive debut to launch their campaign.
