Following another defeat that dropped the team to two wins and two losses on the season, head coach Deion Sanders expressed bewilderment over why his squad continues to fall short despite believing his players outperform their competition. During the contest, Sanders chose to bench starting passer Julian Lewis at halftime in favor of backup option Isaac Wilson.
Lewis had completed eleven of sixteen attempts for seventy-five yards prior to his removal, whereas Wilson finished by connecting on twelve of twenty-five throws for one hundred fifty-six yards and a scoring pass. Sanders now holds a career record of thirty-six wins and fourteen losses when his son Shedeur started under center, compared to nine wins and fifteen losses when playing without him.
The upcoming schedule presents severe hurdles for the program as they prepare to face eleventh-ranked Texas Tech followed by fifteenth-ranked Utah.
