Daniil Medvedev, Elena Rybakina could achieve career firsts in Almaty, Ningbo finals

Daniil Medvedev and Elena Rybakina are both competing in Sunday finals with the opportunity to secure their first-ever successful title defenses. Medvedev, who has claimed 24 career trophies across 23 different tournament locations, has never won the same event in consecutive years.

Meanwhile, Rybakina is enjoying a standout 2026 campaign that includes victories at the Australian Open, US Open, and WTA Finals. She is now looking to build on that momentum by repeating as champion at her current tournament.
