Daniel Carlson misses game-winning field goal in New Orleans Saints’ loss

Klint Kubiak enjoyed a successful debut as the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders, guiding his squad to a commanding 27-13 home victory over the Miami Dolphins in their 2026 Week 1 opener at Allegiant Stadium. Despite playing without Brock Bowers, Las Vegas excelled across all phases of the contest.

Running back Ashton Jeanty spearheaded the offensive attack with an overwhelming performance both rushing and receiving, drawing high praise from veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins in his first start under center for the franchise.

Elsewhere around the league, Daniel Carlson was unable to convert a decisive field goal attempt during a defeat for the New Orleans Saints. Meanwhile, Davante Adams had an unexpectedly quiet showing as the Los Angeles Rams' secondary receiver, seeing scarce involvement in red-zone snaps despite having led the NFL in touchdown receptions the prior season.
