Atlanta Falcons quarterback Cooper Rush endured a difficult season debut against the Pittsburgh Steelers, highlighted by a costly interception returned for a touchdown that left the passer visibly frustrated. The veteran entered the opening matchup battling back spasms, yet took the field out of necessity after health setbacks sidelined both Tua Tagovailoa and Michael Penix Jr.

Now in his ninth professional season across three separate clubs, Rush brought a 9-7 career starting record over 16 prior assignments into Sunday's contest.
