Commanders WR Antonio Williams nominated for rookie award

Washington Commanders rookie wide receiver Antonio Williams has earned a nomination for a weekly first-year award following his standout regular-season debut. Despite Washington suffering a narrow 24-22 defeat against the Philadelphia Eagles, Williams led his squad with 64 receiving yards and secured the top overall grade on the team from Pro Football Focus.

The matchup also featured notable individual moments across the roster, including quarterback Jayden Daniels breaking tackles on an elusive scramble that set up a touchdown. Elsewhere, rookie Sonny Styles made an impactful first appearance, while fellow newcomer Joshua Josephs physically overpowered Philadelphia tackle Lane Johnson during a sequence on the field.

On the other end of the evaluation spectrum, defensive back Mike Sainristil received the lowest PFF mark among Washington players.
