Colorado's Joseph Williams joins rare company, eyes national award

Colorado junior receiver Joseph Williams has carved out a historic campaign, pulling in 46 catches for 643 yards and five scores across his first eight outings. This strong production places him among an elite group of 21 program pass-catchers to hit those marks simultaneously, while also placing him third in both receptions and yards within the Big 12.

Williams enters this weekend's matchup against Kansas State following an impressive outing at Oklahoma State, where he secured nine receptions for 135 yards during a 57-24 defeat. Despite a strong first half that featured eight catches and 130 yards to claim a brief lead, the offense stalled after halftime as the team dropped its fifth consecutive game.

Williams has now turned his sights toward national recognition after earning a spot on the Biletnikoff Award watch list, fulfilling a lifelong ambition he has shared with his mother since childhood. To maintain his high level of play, the standout receiver frequently reviews route details with quarterbacks like Isaac Wilson following practice.
