The Kansas City Chiefs have added wide receiver Justin Watson to their practice squad following his recent stint with the Houston Texans. Head coach Andy Reid noted that Watson's familiarity with the team's playbook and his physical attributes make him a valuable depth piece as the organization navigates injuries.
To accommodate this roster move, the team placed Tyquan Thornton on the Reserve/Injured list due to an ankle issue and promoted linebacker Cam Jones to the active roster. Watson previously recorded 64 receptions during his initial three-year tenure in Kansas City, with a significant portion of those catches coming on deep routes.
