Former Bihar and East Zone fast bowler Ashis Sinha recently expressed frustration with the unresponsive pitch conditions at Keenan Stadium during a match between Kerala and Jharkhand. Reflecting on his own career, which included a stint as a defender for the Bihar football team, Sinha shared memories of dismissing international legends like Kim Hughes and Graham Yallop while playing for East Zone.
He also recalled facing Rodney Hogg and Allan Border during a 1979 victory in Cuttack, as well as witnessing Malcolm Marshall's 11-wicket performance against his side. Beyond his playing days, Sinha contributed to Indian cricket as a coach and a member of the selection committee that oversaw the nation's first Under-19 World Cup victory.
