Cheryl Reeve Confronts Lynx With Blunt Reality After Dominant Regular Season Ends in Another Playoff Exit

Following another early exit despite finishing with the top record in the WNBA, Minnesota Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve delivered a blunt assessment of her roster. Reeve admitted that while her squad consistently outperforms expectations during the regular season, they lack the specific personnel needed to secure a championship during the postseason.

The top-seeded Lynx were recently swept in the opening round by the eighth-seeded New York Liberty, marking three consecutive years of postseason heartbreak for the franchise under Reeve. This followed previous playoff setbacks including a 2024 WNBA Finals loss and a 2025 semifinal defeat against the Phoenix Mercury.
