C.J. Stroud, Texans reportedly defer contract extension talks until after upcoming season

Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud and the franchise have decided to pause discussions regarding a long-term contract extension until the conclusion of the upcoming campaign. Stroud initially reached the threshold of eligibility for a new agreement earlier this summer.

Despite reaching that career milestone, negotiations will be put on hold for now. Any potential pact between the two sides will remain deferred until after the signal-caller finishes his fourth year in the NFL.
