Despite a wave of departures and financial turmoil following the withdrawal of backing from the Saudi Public Investment Fund, star golfer Bryson DeChambeau is reportedly working behind the scenes to help save the circuit through a potential relaunch known as LIV 2.0. The organization recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and secured a court ruling allowing the rejection of numerous player contracts, including DeChambeau's, while seeking substantial outside funding to potentially resume operations in 2027.
Meanwhile, other prominent figures have decided to move on rather than return under the proposed new terms. Jon Rahm's legal representation informed the bankruptcy court that the Spanish player would not participate in the proposed league, pointing to unacceptable contract conditions.
Similarly, Louis Oosthuizen publicly stated his intention to depart and compete on the DP World Tour next year. A final determination regarding whether the circuit will attempt to push forward with its reboot or officially wind down operations is anticipated by the end of October.
