Barack Obama and Donald Trump had very different reactions to WNBA Finals

The Golden State Valkyries secured their inaugural championship by defeating the Atlanta Dream 68-63 in a decisive seventh game. Gabby Williams earned Finals MVP honors after contributing 30 points, with 28 of those coming in the second half.

This victory marks a rare achievement for a franchise within its first two seasons, notably accomplished without any players named to the All-WNBA team. The series drew contrasting political attention, as Barack Obama publicly congratulated the winners while Donald Trump advocated for a league boycott due to pregame anthem protocols.
