Bad Day for the Big 12: How bad losses by Texas Tech, BYU hurt conference's CFP outlook

Meanwhile, BYU’s bid for a Big 12 title spot was derailed by an upset loss to UCF in double overtime, 39-31. BYU’s kicker Matthias Dunn hit a 47-yard field goal to tie the game at 24, but a roughing‑the‑kicker penalty on BYU in the second overtime gave UCF a fresh set of downs.

UCF quarterback Keyone Jenkins threw a touchdown to Grayson Brousseau and completed a two‑point conversion, while BYU quarterback Bear Bachmeir’s pass to Walker Lyons fell incomplete, sealing the upset.
