India's Ishan Kishan will miss the upcoming third T20I against New Zealand in Wellington on October 27, 2026, due to a right adductor strain. Bowling coach Morne Morkel confirmed the decision to sideline him as a precaution, noting that the 28-year-old's recovery is steady but he has not yet reached full match fitness.
Kishan'n's absence from the second T20I was also due to injury.
Kumar Kushagra has been added to the squad to provide backup for the own wicketkeeper-batter. In the ability to lead a five-match series where India holds a 0-2 lead, the Kushagra will continue to be with the team for the next match.
